Great Skin Care Routines for All Skin Types

If you're frustrated with your current skin care routine maybe you need a new one that is better for your skin type. Using the wrong routine is actually quite common. It is important that you choose care methods and products that are created for your skin type. If you have dry, oily, combination, damaged or sensitive skin, there are lots of ways to care for your skin. Some mistakes are still likely to get made, however, even if everything else on your counter and in your routine is perfect.

We'll talk about a few proven skin care routines for each skin type.

If you have oily skin, we know how the special challenges you face every day. The skin care routine you use needs to be very simple. Use a gentle cleanser and plain water to wash your face a few times each day. Don't go overboard when you wash. Don't use a lot of soap and don't scrub too hard because this can take all of the natural oil off of your skin.

And what will that do to you? Your oil glands work hard to replace the oil that is gone, and your skin is super oily, once again. Take some gentle and natural cleansing pads with you when you leave the house.

Slightly warm water is sufficient for that morning washing.

Wash your hands thoroughly before you wash your face. This morning wash will remove oils as well as night creams. You need to take special care not to over cleanse your face when you use cleansers. People with dry skin types will benefit from a light moisturizer whereas those with oily skin probably don't need it.

With all of the toners that are on the skin care shelves these days it is easy to get confused about the product and whether or not you actually need it. So what should you do? It does certainly seem to be an area rife with conflict and controversy. One thing that everyone can agree on is that they take the oil off of the face. Toner isn't necessary for people who suffer from dry skin. Toner could, however, be quite useful if you have oily skin. But even if your skin is very oily, you should try not to get rid of all of the oil. That is a bad skin care move that will damage your skin and make you produce more oil.

Good skin care is important for all types of skin because all skin needs to be taken care of (regardless of type). If you don't know what kind of skin you have, ask a qualified beautician to give you some good advice and information. She will be able to assist you in developing your skin care routine but be on the lookout for marketing and up-selling you things that you do not actually need. Once you know what kind of a routine to follow you might have to try out a few different products to find the ones that work for you.

I have dry skin and toner is definitely a no no. I think that a lot of times people have to switch their skin care routine based on the weather/seasons. In the winter I will need to use different (more moisterizing)products than in the summer.
